Care instructions for cast iron teapots

When using your cast iron teapot, note the following guidelines:

Using your teapot for the first time: thoroughly rinse teapot with boiling water while pot is still warm, dry inside and out with a dry cloth let teapot sit (lid off) so inside is well aired and dried.

Do not put the pot in a dishwasher or use on a stove, in the oven or in a microwave Use the pot to steep tea, not as a stove-top kettle.

Do not leave tea standing in the pot for a long period of time. This may cause rust, or cause interior glaze to break down.

Do not suddenly cool teapot when it is still warm. Do not wash the pot with abrasive pads. use harsh detergents, soaps or kitchen utensils that may scratch the glaze. Simply rinse it with plain water and wipe it dry after each use.

Dry fully before storing.

Do not expose the pot to salt or oil.
